Quiet, cool, refreshing. Thirst quenching. A gift of peace that flows gently and steadily without undue hurry to reach its destination. These still waters might serve to quench a thirst or cool a traveler on a long journey. They might bring peace to a restless heart or inspiration to an artist. Notice that this place of rest is a place of life... moss and plants and leaves thrive here and fish swim under the cool waters. David the Psalmist knew of the restoration, abundance, and goodness of green pastures and quiet waters and he knew who would guide him to these places. In your walk along the path of life remember your good shepherd and allow Him to give you rest and comfort even in the midst of the deepest valleys.
